Lethbridge is the bordered to the West by the Blood Tribe Reserve, home to the Blood (Kainai) Nation, this is the largest reserve in Canada, with an area of over 540 square miles, and the second most populous, with 12,000 people. The Aboriginal population in Lethbridge remains strong at 4, 375 people in 2011, an increase of 9.6% since 2006.

Lethbridge is a culturally diverse city. As of 2011, there were 12,420 immigrants living in Lethbridge, an increase of 13% since 2006. The largest sub-groups of immigrants are from the United Kingdom, Netherlands, United States, Mexico and Germany. Lethbridge is also home to the largest population of Bhutanese refugees and immigrants in Canada.
