The Ellison Milling Company has been going to market under the original Lethbridge family name of Ellison since the time of the original mill’s construction in 1906. Maple Leaf Pork, Lethbridge Family Services – Immigrant Services and L. Bean Consulting
In 2006 and 2007 Maple Leaf Pork, in conjunction with Lethbridge Family Services – Immigrant Services and L. Bean Consulting, coordinated a community effort to bring 48 temporary workers from El Salvador to Lethbridge.
Lethbridge Family Services and L. Bean Consulting provided newcomers with settlement assistance, language assessment and training and interpretation services, when needed.
Maple Leaf Pork assisted their new employees with housing, settlement funds, household goods, winter clothing and coordinated with the El Salvadorian government to provide distance education up to the Grade 12 level.

As of 2007, Sunrise processes approximately 14.5 million fowl per year (275,000 to 290,000 per week) and has announced plans to expand the current plant structure by 40,000 square-feet and establish an additional processing plant in the near future.
