Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada Lethbridge Research Centre
The Lethbridge Research Centre (LRC) is the largest within Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada's national network of 19 research centres. Located in Lethbridge, the Centre's research is focused in the areas of environmental health, bio-products and bioprocesses, food safety and nutrition, and sustainable production systems. The Centre conducts significant research into new and improved technologies for beef cattle production and beef quality. The LRC is also developing sustainable and profitable crop production systems for dry and irrigated land and rangeland in the southern Canadian prairies.

The Animal Disease Research Institute within the Canadian Food Inspection Agency is located in Lethbridge and ensures the marketability of Canadian livestock, their products and by-products by working to mitigate the risk of certain serious diseases.

In March 2009, Frito Lay Canada in Lethbridge, was awarded the 2009 Alberta Leadership Award, which recognizes organizations that embrace diversity in its workforce, encourage respect and inclusion, eliminate discrimination and barriers, and help create welcoming and inclusive workplaces and communities. In 2008, the Recycling Council of Alberta presented Frito Lay with the 2008 R's of Excellence Awards for Industrial Leadership, recognizing outstanding contribution to waste reduction, recycling and resource conservation in Alberta.

Lethbridge Astronomy Society
The main function of the Lethbridge Astronomy Society is to facilitate awareness of astronomical topics by establishing and maintaining a resource centre, observatory and library and by creating and running various educational programs and opportunities for the citizens of Lethbridge and area. Using the resources of the Old Man River Observatory, the LSA also offers instruction and hands-on experience for students of the University of Lethbridge.
